Photo provided by Anne-Marie Fitzurka Cooper</span> <span style="font-size:18px; ">&nbsp;1962-63 &nbsp;Somewhere in the Zone, my father with &ldquo;his&rdquo; car. &nbsp;My father was very proud of this car. &nbsp;He helped design it with the manufacture and had it air shipped via C47, I believe, to Germany - for&nbsp;what would have been in their day a new &nbsp; hot rod to take the road at high speeds at night. &nbsp;His driver was Mel Ratz.<br />Photo provided by Anne-Marie Fitzurka Cooper</span> <span style="font-size:18px; "> &nbsp;1947 Germany, near the border - my father was a member of one of the first groups to do tours for the USMLM. &nbsp;They transferred him from Pacific Theater to European Theater after the war when they realized he spoke Russian fluently. &nbsp;This was his first Intelligence posting, where he served as pilot and lead navigator during the war.
